Sprouts-a-plenty

The basil is looking strong. Of the 216 squares, there are only about 10 that don't have sprouts. And most of the squares have more than one sprout...we're going to end up gifting lots of basil plants and I'm pretty excited about that!

    man, that dark opal is SO intriguing! Plus, see how quickly they are growing? You had plenty of time.

    you're right...BUT i can't harvest just yet! I want to make pesto like...3 weeks ago!!

    also...my friend confirmed that when she donated some sweet basil to me last year, she also had some of the dark opal in the mix. apparently it has some spice to it...now i'm wondering if i should just use a little here and there in my sweet basil but not grow as much of it? maybe i need to search for recipes?
